Description
One of the rarest ecosystems in the world, the Santa Cruz Sandhills are found only in Santa Cruz County and cover a mere 4,000 acres. This ancient seabed is home to a number of endangered species and the remaining habitat is under constant threat from homesite development and sand mining. In Phase I of the “Save-the-Sandhills Campaign”, CLG is working with The Land Trust of Santa Cruz County to acquire the largest remaining private parcel in the Sandhills area.

Status
